HowFlow — Fdisk returns: "Error: Unable to open /dev/sda - unrecognised disk label".

If fdisk doesn’t work for you, because it complains about a missing partition table, try the following:


  sfdisk /dev/sda

Press Enter a few times and if you’re asked if you want to write the partition table, answer with ‘y’. Afterwards, you should be able to partition your block device with fdisk.
